I had a producing and directing internship at WFTV in Orlando, FL during the Summer of 2017.

In the beginning of my internship, I shadowed evening producers and used what I learned for my shows back in Gainesville. Then one month in, I began writing for the morning and noon shows. I also spent time with the traffic reporter in the mornings. I helped make graphics, find traffic delays, and find alternate routes.

I spent a lot of time in the control room with the directors. I learned how to direct using Grass Valley Ignite automation. Before most shows, I coded the rundowns in my own space and compared them to the director's, checking for accuracy.

Although my internship ended in August, I was called back to WFTV to help with coverage of Hurricane Irma. I helped one of the meteorologists with social media during the storm, and helped with odds and ends in the control room.
